Colonel Mike Ryall, Dr. Todd Mottley, Mr. Jason Kyles, Pastor Earle Fisher and Pastor Ricky Floyd were the 5 honorees recognized for their community advocacy regarding domestic violence at Walking Into A New Life, Inc.’s 3rd Annual Mens Brunch & Awards Celebration. Remarked by several as one of the best events they’d attended all year, the signature event was held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at The Church Health Center, Memphis, TN. With every seat filled, those in attendance gained valuable information about services available in the community for victims and encouragement & ideas to increase male victims to come forward. Facilitated by male survivor, Kevin Phipps and supported by State Representative G.A. Hardaway, the brunch also gained the attention and commitment of support from nationally recognized judge and television personality, Joe Brown, to look into future collaborations.
This brunch is not only a signature event for WIANL, Inc., but has established a platform for more Man Against Domestic Violence initiatives, to include more opportunities for male victims to come forward, service providers to aggressively research and establish resources/support groups for them and become more educated on batterer intervention programs and legislation regarding male & female victims.
