Walking Into A New Life & Successful Single Moms Memphis recently co-hosted its 3rd Annual S.I.S. Awards. The S.I.S. Awards (Surviving In Silence) was created to honor 5 women who are survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and 5 women who are single mothers. All of these women have taken their individual experiences and used them to not only help themselves, but to help those within their community. They are our unsung heroes; doing what they do without expecting anything in return. They are not looking for accolades.
The standing room only event included guest host, Stephon Smith, CEO of Showtime Entertainment and guest speakers Jacqueline Oselen, Hendrell Remus, Bennie Cobb and Warren Harper. There were great giveaways and tangible takeaways, resource information, and an abundance of food, fun, fellowship and education.
Throughout the coming weeks, we will be spotlighting each of these ladies and encourage you to follow up with them. They have amazing stories and talents that are both inspiring and engaging.
