Walking Into A New Life presents the 2nd Annual Men’s Brunch and Awards Celebration, honoring all men within our community who serve as positive role models and use their circle of influence to assist others to set goals, pursue dreams and live productive lives. Special recognition will be given to those men who have given specific attention to the education, equality and justice regarding domestic violence. This year’s brunch will take place November 5, 2011 from 10:30-1:00 pm at The Church Health & Wellness Center, 1115 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38105. The event is absolutely free, but RSVP is mandatory, as seating is limited. This year’s theme is “Advocates in the Game of Life”.

Hosted by Fox 13 News Anchor Darcy Thomas, we encourage you to join us in honoring community leaders Mauricio Calvo, Jonathan Cole, Pastor Orlester Johnson, Reginald Johnson, Damon Morris, Anthony “Tony” Nichelson and Elder Oliver Williams. In addition to honor and recognition, this informative brunch will include invaluable information from Col. Mike Ryall of the Memphis Police Department, ADA Patience Branham of the Shelby County DA’s office, Rubbie King, Program Operations Dir. of the Family Safety Center and keynote speaker/presenter Elder Oliver Williams. We’ll explore the significance of the number seven, show men how they can actively engage in ways to address domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as establish and maintain a positive educational support system.
