Dependable. Great leadership. Cares about our young people. Committed to family and community. These are just a few of the kind words used to describe Bennie Cobb. Cobb, a retired Captain of the Shelby Co. Sheriff’s Department and Owner of Eagle Eye Security Services, has an extensive and impressive resume which demonstrates love and commitment in law enforcement. Some of these positions include, but certainly not limited to: Captain and Executive Officer Uniform Patrol Division, Captain and Executive Officer Detective Division, Sheriff Department Patrol Lieutenant, Entertainment District Unit Lieutenant, Metro Gang Unit Lieutenant, Court House Commander Lieutenant, Detective Division Lieutenant, Narcotics Community Police Lieutenant, Internal Affairs Lieutenant, Metro Narcotics Lieutenant, Shelby State Community College Adjunct Instructor and S.W.A.T. Team Sergeant/Lieutenant.
Bennie can be found speaking and teaching both in and outside of the city about gun safety, self defense and domestic violence, among other subjects. He’s a coach, mentor and community advocate. These are just a few of the reasons that we were happy to honor him during the Men’s Advocacy Brunch. His expertise is greatly welcomed and appreciated as we move forward to engage our community with an emphasis on making sure that the voices of men are recognized and appreciated as advocates and agents of tangible change.
