How long have you been doing what you do? I am the CEO and Founder of Ova Flow Productions. We have been operating for over fourteen years. I am also the Project Manager for Heal The Hood Foundation of Memphis, under the leadership of CEO LaDell Beamon and I have held that position for 15 years.
What types of services does your organization/agency/business provide? Ova Flow Productions is a Christian Theatrical Production Company and we are proud to operate with integrity regarding our commitment to producing relatable, message-driven stage plays and productions. We bring awareness to some issues that often go unnoticed. Through our performances, one of our goals is to continue to bring social and emotional healing to individuals who’ve experienced misfortunes due to hardships in life.
What made you decide to do what you do/choose your field? I believe this is what I was called to do. As a believer in Christ, I understand that not everyone is called to minister from a pulpit. Some are called to minister in other ways. Like in my case, I believe we are called to minister thought-provoking, life-changing, message-driven stage plays/productions.
What are some of the most gratifying parts of what you do? I would have to say one of the most gratifying parts of what we do is to hear the testimonies after performances. It warms my heart to hear how some lives are changed. Some have chosen to make positive lifestyle changes after being inspired by a character in a play. I love it when parents see a play and get a revelation on the importance of the need to better communicate with their children and become better listeners.
What are some of the most disheartening things about what you do? A disheartening thing about what we do is, knowing that the mission and the purpose of our stage plays/productions is to encourage, uplift, inspire and help people in our community. We sometimes lack the support that we desire. Some people assume because we are a Christian Theatrical Production Company, that automatically means our performances are preachy, boring, and lack excitement. But in all actuality, our performances will make you laugh and cry. You will experience suspense and drama. And at the end of that, you will walk away with a thought-provoking, life-changing message that will help you or someone you know. But because of the integrity and ethics that we stand for, some people won’t even take the time to come see our performances. It saddens my heart that they miss out on the opportunity to be blessed and/or inspired.
Do you have any events coming up? Yes. We will have the When No One Is Listening, Family Hope and Healing Conference. It will be done at the EACC Fine Arts Center in Forrest City Arkansas on February 4, 2023. The start time is 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. It is free and open to the public. Free lunch and giveaways will be provided along with swag bags for the first 100 people to attend. We will also do a new stage production in March 2023. Please follow our Facebook page for more info or go to our website at www.OvaFlowProductions.com
Do you have any needs that would help you better do what you do? One thing that would help us to do better with our services would be to have sponsorship to help us reach a bigger platform so we can reach more people with our positive messages.
What main point(s) do you want the readers to take away from this article? I would say one of the main points I would like the readers to know is that Ova Flow Productions is not only a source of entertainment, but we actually want to help others find their way to healing and wholeness. We sincerely care about our supporters and want to give them some of the best theatrical performances as we impact lives and turn them to Christ. We understand the social responsibility that comes with what we do. We are committed to our mission to share the love of God by ministering the message of hope, healing, restoration, and joy by way of entertainment.
