Purple Heart of the Day: Dr. Karren Todd

Our Purple Heart of the Day is Dr. Karren Todd, Executive Director of Power Ministries and Founder & CEO of Coach Karren. She’s also an amazing preacher and community leader.

From the pulpit to Project Stand, Higher Learning and so many other ventures in between, Dr. Todd is well known in communities locally and nationally for seeing a need and creating ways to educate, train, and lead youth & adults in their personal and professional pursuits. She encourages you to pray, pursue, and prosper.

Purple Heart of the Day: Te’Retta Hall

Believing in strengthening the mind, body, and spirit, Te’Retta continues to incorporate her faith into all she does as a speaker, certified fitness trainer, domestic violence advocate, and survivor. She is quite in the way she assists with connecting those dealing with abuse to resources. But, her commitment to everything she does speaks volumes.

Our Purple Heart of the Day Honoree is Te’Retta Hall, Founder/CEO/Owner of Total Concept-Fitness Coach. Thank you Te’Retta for working out front and behind the scenes to encourage a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Purple Heart of the Day: LaToya Dotson

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month! Our Purple Heart of the Day Honoree is Mrs. LaToya Dotson, Founder and Director of Pink Savvy, Inc. Thank you for your courage, boldness, transparency, and support of other causes while being a committed leader with your own.

LaToya is a fabulously fierce breast cancer advocate and survivor. To know her is to know you will have a champion warrior in your corner for love, support, encouragement, and a drive that won’t allow you to give up or give in. She gives of her time, talent, and resources; not just to those dealing with breast cancer, but to other causes as well. She is a beautiful soul, inside and out.

Purple Heart of the Day: Bridgette Rodriguez

Our Purple Heart of the Day is Bridgette Rodriguez; advocate, writer, humanitarian and so many other caring hats! She is love and cared for by so many for her selfless acts of support. Her consistent dedication and support is appreciated.

Although Bridgette is retired, she is one the busiest advocates you will ever meet. She supports a number of agencies, both lesser known and well known around the country in a myriad of ways; donations, volunteering, networking, etc. She’s also quite the writer and photographer, both of which bring smiles, joy, and a sense of calm for all to experience as she travels. WIANL and other organizations, advocates, victims, and survivors remain thankful to her for having a caring heart.

Purple Heart of the Day: Evette Porter

Our Purple Heart of the Day is Evette Porter, Founder of the Taffi T Crawford Domestic Violence Foundation, Inc. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to awareness and hope.

Evette Porter’s efforts to end domestic violence continue to be both passionate and heartfelt. She works tirelessly to provide awareness, support survivors, and empower advocacy organizations. Evette’s genuine heart and selfless love gives hope to all.

Purple Heart of the Day: Oriana Holmes

Our Purple Heart of the Day is Oriana Holmes, DV Advocate, Lethality Assessment Program(LAP) Trainer & Purple Purse Program Facilitator.

Oriana has broad based experience from 1-on-1 crisis counseling, court advocacy & keeps abreast of new development with DV Advocacy. Her training & experience gives her keen insight on how to best navigate systems, while being passionate about the needs of victims/survivors. Her wisdom, knowledge & experience benefits all that she serves. Spends countless hours strategizing, sharing information & connecting with other advocates. Has top notch interpersonal skills & can relate to every culture & background with confidence & ease.

Purple Heart of the Day: Inés Negrette

Our Purple Heart of the Day honoree is Inés Negrette, Founder/Executive Director of CasaLuz Memphis! Thank you for your continued community service.

Inés is dedicated to her calling as a passionate and outspoken advocate against Domestic Violence in the Hispanic Community. Case Luz is the only culturally specific agency serving Hispanic victims of violent crimes. Her advocacy is not limited to the Hispanic community; and she has collaborated, supported and partnered with DV Advocates in the community.

Purple Heart of the Day: Gloria D. Fisher

Our Purple Heart of the Day is in loving memory of the beautiful, strong & courageous Gloria D. Fisher.

Gloria was loved by many and left her mark on each individual that she met. She is a survivor of Domestic Violence and she battled multiple cancers to include Breast Cancer for over 23 1/2 years. She was a rockstar!

Purple Heart of the Day: Tamaira Walker

Today’s Purple Heart of the Day Honoree is Tamaira Walker, advocate and domestic violence survivor.

While she’s only in her 20’s, Tamaira is wise beyond her years and committed to learning and sharing. She has committed herself to advocacy and community services in both domestic violence and helping the homeless. She has a servant heart and wants others to know they are not alone.
