L.Y.L.A.S. Worldwide (love you like a sister) recently hosted their inaugural event, Awareness Counts recently at the Marshall Arts Gallery & Studio. We were one of several organizations who spoke about topics that the community may have very little information about. It was a great collaborative program, complete with a fashion show, inspirational speakers, art exhibit, spoken word presentations, complimentary food and the premiere of L.Y.L.A.S Diaries documentary. The awareness topics included domestic violence, Alzheimer’s disease, organ donation and drunk driving.
L.Y.L.A.S. Worldwide is co-founded by long time friends, Kapri Carter and Tavenia Redic. They created the women’s group to create a forum to share words of encouragement and for us to uplift one another. sometimes we all need a little help dealing with life’s issues. It is what they call a “NO judgement zone”. They look forward to bonding and sharing information with any woman who’d like to join.
